The OUT ISLAND 41, introduced in 1970, became legendary as a no-frills, center-cockpit standard, especially in the charter trade, with maximum accomodations, and ease of handling.
Charles Morgan's involvement in the company ended in 1972.
Since that time, the company was passed from one corporate entity to another, until it came into the hands of Catalina Yachts during the early 1990's. Catalina continued with a few models, inluding the OUT ISLAND 41, before the Morgan name was retired.
The 41 OI CLASSIC appeared after Morgan Yachts was purchased by Catalina. The venerable OI 41 design was revamped with a new deck and updated keel and rudder. 150 Classic have been build from 1986 to 1991.

"Catalina Yachts has made sailing's best ideas even better. Congratulation and well done" was the comment of Charles Morgan about the 41 Classic.
